Dude....that's better than Wal-Mart!
Wow.
Still recovering from shooting that short film last night. Although I wrapped at Midnight, it took me a couple hours to come down. Arrived at the Mint-Mart on Marine Drive to a host of techies and trailers. After dressing down in shorts and "Chump" t-shirt, I met some of the extras - and was assuming my role not long afterwards.
All in all - a great experience that I can't wait to see on screen. I just hope I don't look like a total fool - even though I'm the 'Beer Guy' (ala the "Big Lebowski" Dude) and have five lines that I get to ham up (including the subject header). Had to sign paperwork for SAG...and got a really tasty midnight lunch. Film was shot on Super16 with a full pro crew...so it's a tight-looking effort. Title of the short is "Inconvenience" - and details a mini-mart holdup with a mixed up chronology. Good script. I asked Korgan to do the PDX premiere at the Clinton, so we'll see what's up.
The U.S. opening will be at the Bumbershoot Fest in Seattle on Labor Day. I might have to jet from being Belushi in Cottage Grove on the 3rd to Beer Man in Seattle on the 5th. See a trend here?
Here are the fest details:
The 1 Reel Challenge: Are You F**king Kidding Me!?!
3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
1 Reel. 1 Question. 10 Filmmakers. The fourth annual 1 Reel Challenge defies formerly-presented filmmakers to respond to this profanely rhetorical query. Including new works from Mark Duplass, Seth Henrikson, Todd Korgan, Sir Tim McCarthy, Sir Jason Reitman, AJ Schnack, Jacob Strunk and John Vechey.
