Poindexter takes the rap for his creepy neoconservative Total Information Awareness crap. The ghost of Nixon may be dissapating, but the spirit of Repubican hubris is strong.

He is the first on a list of greedheads, theives and liars that will be purged.

Who's next? If the fires of Iraq continue to flare, you can see Condi Rice being thrown out to dry.

George Tenent anyone? This G-man is the x-factor, as he holds some damning cards....and he has yet to show his entire hand.

How about Don Rumsfeld? He's big enough that the public may be satisfied....assuming that the GOP manages the hornets nest that's buzzing in the Middle East.

Check out this letter from a soldier in Iraq. It's always interesting to see what comes off of the front lines.

Somewhat appalling is the lack of food, water and functioning equipment that is talked about. Where is all the money we are paying Haliburton (who provides housing and supplies to troops)?

Vietnam anyone?

Things are coming together fairly well at the new cottage. House will become home in the next month or so. The basement media room is good-to-go....which is somewhat of a problem - as it draws my attention from unpacking boxes.

Tomorrow night ushers in the beginning of my independent film acting career. A couple weeks ago, I was cast as a supporting actor in a small production that's shooting in the Portland/Vancouver area. Looks like fun.

In other news...

Massacre in Baghdad. A disturbing harbinger of things to come.....and an example of how some stories are not being told in the American press.

Is it just me, or are the post-mortem photos of Saddam's sons some of the worst photography? Good thing the reporters on the ground are confirming this one - because without that assurance - these photos could be of any dead Iraqi.

Some have said that these kills will help to stem the tide of recent attacks on troops. If today's response outside of Mosul is any indication....the future looks dim.

While Bush was gloating over the death's of Saddam's sons, more soldiers die in Iraq.

Wal-Mart seeing resistance in California. The goons at the top of the food chain vow to fight pockets of resistance to their new soul-sucking Supercenters.

Watch as the fragile economies of Smalltown U.S.A. crumble under Wal-Mart's practiced method of corporate feudalism. Family owned business' evaporate, streets are clogged and workers can look forward to lots of low-paying jobs with few benefits.

All while the trolls upstairs pocket millions in profit.

Would you want this corporate monster in your backyard?

Watch how the media tides turn.

One minute, the pressure is on the White House to pony up a believable excuse for misleading the nation.....the next, the headlines scream about the demise of Saddam's sons.....as if THAT will make a difference in the Middle East.

Other than having been dictator of Iraq, Saddam's power is questionable at best. The death of his sons is no more than a footnote - and certainly does not mean any real progress is being made to stabilize the region.

Regardless, you can look to the "liberal" press to glom onto this - and all the details surrounding it for the next few days. Analysts will chalk it up as a win for Blair/Bush; but even if it is.....the larger questions about the illegality of our invasion will still remain.

Whether or not they will be answered - is still classified.

Speaking of media distractions, the Pvt. Lynch story is coming to a close - without further discussion of the questionable facts surrounding her capture and "rescue".

Whoo....boy.

The screws are turning in high places .

Bush's private monkey army is hurling shit as fast as possible to stem the flow of questions implicating the Oval Office - of high treason.

George Tenet may go out in a hail of bullets though.

According to sources, Tenet responded to the White House attack on intelligence by explaining the role that VP Cheney had in pressuring the CIA to release those exaggerated reports. He may fall on his sword, but I bet he takes the Vice-President with him.

In other news....

Check out the analysis by John Dean - regarding the legal peril that the Bush administration is in if an abuse of power is proven.

Also...

U.S. soldiers in Iraq told you stop criticizing Don Rumsfeld.

Yeah...you can die for your country, but you can't question it's values while in uniform. Fine. Offer them a dishonorable discharge and send them home....but don't tell them to stop using their conscience.

It is done....and hopefully I will not have to hear from it again.

Finished the move yesterday, and have been recovering since. Took a load to the dump that was bigger than Jesus.

I live in a shantytown of boxes and crumpled newspaper. The cats have adapted and returned to their usual birdlike behavior. Still, it is a mess that WILL see an end - and eventually become ours to enjoy.

In other news...

Brain is exploding over the recent denials and lies pouring out of the White House. First, he says that the uranium information was wrong, now the teflon administration is deflecting the blame onto the CIA and the U.K.

I wonder if Tony Blair knew that "British intelligence" would be held responsible for American aggression?

And George Tenent. A lamb to the slaughter.

A veteran of the Clinton administration, it looks like Tenent is going to take the fall for Bush. Even when there is information that points to a broader abuse of power within the Bush ranks, it looks like the head of the CIA is doomed.

And where is the media these days?

Reporting on the success of American operations while under duress. Reflecting on the sacrifice of our soldiers - the cost of war.

Pity they don't spend more time publishing the accounts of those who are still alive and struggling with the horrors that our illegal aggression has wrought.

Absolutely nuts these days...

In preperations for the move, we're painting rooms and packing more boxes. Also managed to pull a hamstring while pretending to play softball. Nothing like being gimpy while having to orchestrate an exodus.

In other news...

207 U.S. soldiers have been killed since we invaded Iraq in March. Of those killed, 69 of those casualties have come after the May 1st declaration by Bush of the "end of major combat".

That's right, over a third of U.S. casualties in Iraq have happened after the so-called end of the war.

In many news accounts, the U.S. military losses (post May 1st) are limited to only those who are killed in hostile combat (36) and neglect the high numbers of accident-related deaths (helicopter crashs, friendly fire, etc.) which currently add up to 33.
