Still here....

I know, I know...another month (and change) goes by. The big quiet persists.

Stumbling through summer and into the dog days has been.....something else. Writing has taken a back seat - as I continue to gather my strength and focus. I visit the twins every couple of days to keep the flowers watered - and see that things are maintained. It's a ritual of sorts that I wish didn't exist.

All of us are well...Alexis is back at the Opera after a bout with a virus that kept her in bed for a week. She's feeling much better and will be singing at a concert in September that will benefit children and parents that struggle with childhood metabolic disease. I'm still looking for "real" work. I send out applications daily.....and continue to pursue selling my 16mm films, writing and acting (or whatever constitutes that these days). We're scraping by - but maintaining balance given the circumstances.

Greer is getting into the weekly groove......he goes swimming once a week with me - and we usually visit the Oaks Park, OMSI, or the Children's Museum alternately during the time I have him. He gets to see his friends at daycare on Thursday and Friday - so he gets some socialization - and I get some time to work unencumbered. We're struggling with the whole TV issue right now....he doesn't watch anything on commercial TV - just my programming of kids films, etc. Still...I feel some guilt - like I'm letting him vegetate while I work on everyday stuff. We get out and about though....and the films he watches aren't crap. I'm happy that he seems to enjoy Japanese animation (Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, etc).

Additionally, I've got shows coming up at the Clinton....Trailermania 4 on 8/17 and From Oregon With Love (a small collection of ed films on Oregon) on 8/20.

That's pretty much all I have on this end....I'm currently recovering from doing the 24 mile Providence Bridge Pedal - which kicked my tail to the curb. Still...it was fun to take Greer out for a ride on the bridges.
